Why it exists

At a cold trailhead, a heavy double-wall bottle often stays in the car while a plain steel flask actually gets filled and carried. How it works

Fill it at the tap, the stream, or the camp water jug, close it, and clip the carry loop to a pack strap or set it on the table. When coffee is ready, use the flask as your transfer and pour vessel: fill it from the kettle or pot, then pour into a mug or drink from it once the steel has cooled enough to handle. Because the wall is a single layer of stainless, the contents follow the air temperature around you. Hot coffee drops to drinking temperature faster than it would in a vacuum bottle, and cold stream water warms on a sunny ridge. Treat it as a carry-and-pour bottle rather than a heat flask and it does exactly what it should.

Pick the size by the day: 500 ml (17 fl oz) for a short hike or a single big coffee, 750 ml (25 fl oz) for a day loop, and 1 L (34 fl oz) for a long car camp where it doubles as the table water bottle. When you get home, hand-wash with mild soap and dry it fully before storing.

Honest limits

Single-wall steel is not insulated. Hot contents make the outside hot to the touch and cool quickly in cold air; cold contents sweat and warm in the sun. Hand-wash only, with mild soap, and dry it fully so water does not sit inside. The maker allows 0.5–1 cm (0.2–0.4 in) variance in measured size, and the listed weight of 0.255 kg (9 oz) is the packaged figure, not the bare bottle.
