Why it exists

A two-burner camp stove at first light and an induction plate back at the cabin usually call for two different kettles. Most classic-looking enamelware will not wake up an induction hob, and most induction kettles come with a cord or a plastic shell you do not want anywhere near a fire ring. This Enamel Camp Coffee Pot closes that gap. It is a stovetop kettle for cowboy coffee, for heating water for pour-over, and for the slow boil that never needs a plug, and it moves between campfire, camp stove, cabin burner, and induction hob without changing anything about how you use it.

How it works

There are no electronics and no switch. You fill the pot, set it on heat, and watch the boil the old way. For cowboy coffee, bring the water to a boil, pull the pot off the heat, stir in coarse grounds, let them settle, then pour slowly so the grounds stay at the bottom. For pour-over, heat the water, lift the pot by its handle, and feed your dripper in passes. For a French press or any other press brewer, it is simply the hot-water source that works on whatever burner is in front of you.

At the cabin or at home, the same pot goes straight onto an induction hob. The underglazed purple-grit ceramic body is compatible with induction, and the heat-facing hardware is 304 stainless steel, so you are not keeping a second kettle around for indoor mornings.

Honest limits

This is a stovetop pot, not an electric kettle, so it needs a burner, hob, or fire; it will not boil water in a hotel room on its own. Glazed ceramic asks for a little care: hand wash it, skip abrasive pads on the glaze, and dry the steel before you stow it so it does not sit damp in a bin. Like any kettle that goes on a campfire, the outside will pick up soot and the handle gets hot over an open flame, so keep a glove or a towel handy.
