Why it exists

Fresh-roasted beans keep giving off CO2 after roasting. A sealed jar traps that gas; an open bag lets air in, and air is what makes coffee stale. This stainless canister sits between those two problems: the lid clamps down airtight while a one-way valve lets the roast breathe out and keeps air from coming back in, at camp or on the kitchen counter.

How it works

Pour the beans in, set the lid, and clamp it down. The lid is a cover with a hole, and the hole holds a one-way CO2 valve: as the beans off-gas, pressure inside pushes the gas out through the valve, but the valve does not let outside air flow back in. The body is opaque stainless, so light stays off the beans as well. When you want coffee, release the clamps, scoop, and clamp it back down. The lid wipes clean with a cloth; the body washes by hand.

Two sizes cover two setups. The 1800 ml (61 fl oz) canister takes a large bag of whole beans on the kitchen counter. The 1200 ml (41 fl oz) canister fits a van galley or cabin shelf where space is short. Either one feeds whatever you brew: espresso, pour-over, French press, or a percolator at camp.

Built for the trail

  • Food-grade stainless steel body, food-contact material (FCM), built for food storage.
  • Airtight clamp-down lid so beans are not sitting in open air.
  • One-way CO2 valve: gas from a fresh roast can leave; air does not come in.
  • Lid style is a cover with a hole that holds the valve.
  • Two Capacity options: 1200 ml (41 fl oz) or 1800 ml (61 fl oz), both about 120 mm (4.7 in) across.
  • Stainless body that will not shatter in a van cupboard or a camp bin the way glass can.

Best for

Home brewers who buy fresh-roasted whole beans and want them to off-gas without letting air in. Van-lifers and cabin owners who keep beans on a shelf and would rather have stainless than glass in a cupboard that moves. Pick the 1800 ml for a large bag on the counter; pick the 1200 ml for a galley or small shelf. If you only carry a weekend's grounds in a backpack, this is far more canister than you need; a small tin is the better fit.

Honest limits

The lid is the one part you have to baby: wipe it with a cloth and do not wash it in water, which can damage the valve (maker's instruction). Wash the body by hand. The valve is one-way: it lets CO2 out, but it does not pull out the air that was already inside when you closed the lid, so keep it closed between scoops. The stainless body is opaque, which protects the beans but means you cannot see how much is left without opening it. At about 183 mm (7.2 in) tall, the 1800 ml size needs a shelf with headroom.

This product is of excellent quality, constructed from stainless steel and with a discharge valve for the CO2 produced by the coffee beans that guarantee the freshness of the product. It also includes packaging for excellent sealing and a calendar to record the expiration date or packaging date of the coffee. It is an excellent purchase.

This is a wonderful canister. I store coffee beans in it and they keep very well. This is the fourth canister I've bought here for storing not only coffee, but also tea and various spices.

Exactly as described and perfect for storing beans, or a few days worth of ground beans if you want to do a bulk grind.

Just as advertised. Fast shipping. It's what I expected. Good closure. It does not come with a spoon, although it is not mentioned anywhere in the advertisement; in fact, I didn't need one because I already have several from previous purchases of other containers. The quality-to-price ratio is frankly good. Satisfied with the purchase.

There were no dents. It is recommended to wash and dry it before use.

The cap's seal is too weak, causing leakage of the contents inside.

★★★★★ Verified buyerKR02 Sep 20261800MLTranslated

First of all, it's good that the capacity is large. However, since it's a coffee bean storage container, it's not completely airtight, so if you pour water in and tilt it, the water will leak out.

The jar with an airtight lid itself is very good, but during shipping they were short on protection and the simple box they put it in got damaged a lot. This has caused small marks that I didn't like at all. Return and that's it.
